This antique, circa 1910, Persian Kerman rug has a central field with an overall design of vertical rows of light blue and one central ivory stepped lozenges each containing a bold flowering shrub, weeping willow tree and a floral arrangement, the lozenges linked by shaded blackcurrant-red stepped linked minor lozenges joined in the centre by a rosette issuing a leafy spray at each side, in a broad ivory border of meandering vine linking flowerheads and floral vines between shaded blackcurrant-red similar floral vine stripes, outer shaded blue dense flowerhead stripe.
