About the Item
The navy field of this very well-woven village carpet shows a four section small flower design, while sheltering a pendanted claw and projection medallion with light blue and ecru sub-medallions. Red corners with large, radiating ecru flowers. Imaginative red border with triples of slender leaves. A very attractive carpet with an exceptional medallion from an important transition period in Persian rug-making. Cotton foundation. Excellent wool. Good condition. A village carpet with successful urban pretensions.
