Hand-knotted Heriz rug, woven in Northwest Iran circa 1930.
This antique Heriz rug showcases a bold central medallion with intricate angular motifs framed by a spacious ivory field and deep red ground. Accents of navy, gold, green and grey lend depth and balance to the composition, reflecting the distinctive geometric artistry and regional character for which Heriz rugs are admired.
Woven from fine wool on a cotton foundation, the rug offers a firm handle and durable weave typical of Heriz craftsmanship. Its strong graphic presence and natural color harmony make it a versatile statement piece suitable for both traditional and modern interiors.
