Beige Tribal Nomadic Masterpiece
About this rug: These pieces are So difficult to get your hands on. They are always kept in wealthy families and passed down from generation to generation and rarely do we get to have them in our possession. We're lucky to say we have this piece and all of its beauty. Such crispness in design, very high-quality wool, sensational dyes, and a remarkable weave for a tribal piece - making it a rare and fine piece. The Harshang design makes an appearance with influence from old Safavid Dynasty motifs, known as the second age of rugs. This piece has the iconic turtle border and it is so well done - and to have it in a more Western region where this was woven is a bit unusual - but of course, it's those nuances that make these pieces so great. A truly romantic example of how two softer and lighter colors can come together to offer our eyes a majestic tale. Both colors of purity, both colors of the most beautiful flowers, and both often used and highlight colors in rugs like this - this piece contains them as the main color in the field and spandrels, and then to be flanked and grounded in the richest of reds elevates this piece to a luxurious elite level simply because the quality of wool captures the dyes better - hence making a richer color that glows. The piercing French, sky, and denim blues cool it all down and the use of earthy hues and even green notes are sensational. Let's not forget that this piece is Dated C. 1895 which is such an incredible element that you simply don't find in most rugs. This amazing European cut size speaks to its intent - woven for the European market and most likely expected for a wealthy or diplomatic family - this piece somehow ended up in our hands and we offer it to you. Very old-world, very distinct antique piece, and really a show-stopping and elite example of what true nomadic art weaving is all about - you will Love this piece.
