Crafts style. This hand knotted wool antique Persian Hamadan rug features a serrated hexagonal medallion with anchor pendants floating in the center of an abrashed patterned field. The medallion, decorated with rows of triangles in a variety of colors, perfectly complements the all-over angular framework of the diamond-lattice patterned field. The corner spandrels and wonderful series of borders all are adorned with an array of graceful floral motifs. The spandrels feature rosettes and vinery that correspond with the floral vine main border and carnation Meander and almond blossom secondary borders. The color palette is bold yet tasteful; the vibrant reds, blues, oranges and softer pastel hues really pop when offset by the neutral colors of the field. Along with its timeless composition and the right balance of geometric and floral motifs, this handsome antique Persian Hamadan rug would be a wonderful addition to any interior. It is rendered in variegated shades of scarlet red, ruby red, crimson, vermilion, brick red, maroon, wine, burgundy, ecru, almond, sand vanilla, ivory, beige, khaki, tan, camel, light brown, cerulean, Prussian blue, true blue, cornflower blue, sky blue, celadon, orange, tangerine, gray, oyster gray, dove gray, pink, light pink, ballet slipper, rose, and other accent colors.
