About the Item
This finely woven central Persian town carpet with a particularly velvety pile was woven during the period of, and possibly by the famous Mohtasham workshop. The rust palmette and vine filled field presents a scalloped lozenge navy medallion with rust sub-medallion, with voluted ivory corners and a navy border of complex rosettes and lesser leaves and flowers. Good condition for the type.
