Originating from Persia circa 1910-1920, this antique 9x11 Kerman Lavar rug joins Rug
Kilim’s Antique
Vintage collection. This piece draws attention with its unique pictorial representation of dragons where one cocoons itself right in the middle for a medallion style design while others seem to move fearlessly on the field—perhaps depicting protection to the one in the centre. With strong visual imagery, this piece enjoys beautiful floral patterns in different colours to make the drawing a bit mellow and classic. This bold imagination is heightened by employing a contrasting color scheme of deep blue and red that holds the ground for the flowers and dragons to flourish in green, blue and beige-brown accents. The beauty of the piece is further glorified by an elaborate floral border that almost follows the same colorway with an addition of tints of pink, pista green and pale blue to bring a sophisticated touch to the audacious sketch. Hand knotted in wool, a brilliant piece existing in great condition, idyllic for a wide array of well ornate projects.
