About the Item
In this listing you will find a gorgeous antique hand-woven Taymeh rug. Often called the "Iron Rugs of Persia" due to their remarkable strength, achieved through a unique, tightly compressed weaving method. Features intricate floral and geometric patterns, frequently displaying the traditional Herati (fish) motif. The rug was hand-woven by Kurdish tribes in south Turkmenistan in the 1920s.
Rug is in overall good antique condition with some signs of time and use, such as small discolorations, shown in pictures.
