About the Item
Possibly from Lavar, reputed to have woven finer antique Kermans, the figure/ground reversing pattern shows a four by six array of red ellipses enclosing green leafy arabesque spirals, with cream four point motives between. Palmettes join the red reserves. Straw border with palmettes and forked arabesques. Cotton foundation, medium-fine urban weave. From SE Persia. Wide natural dye palette. Good condition.
