Hand knotted Persian Sarough Farahan rug, woven in Iran circa 1900.
This elegant antique Sarough Farahan showcases a striking central medallion set against a deep navy field, framed by an ivory spandrel design and rich red borders. The composition features refined floral motifs and symmetrical vine work, characteristic of the distinguished Farahan weaving tradition known for its balance, precision and artistic sophistication.
Woven from fine wool on a cotton foundation, the rug has a smooth texture and gentle sheen. The naturally aged palette of red, ivory and navy has softened beautifully over time, giving the piece a warm and timeless charm.
Size: 6'7" × 4'2" (200 cm × 127 cm), ideal for intimate or elegantly curated interiors.
