About the Item
Antique Persian Sarouk rug of classic medallion design, with floral sprays on an ivory ground.
This is a classic example of a Sarouk rug, well drawn with good colour. The deep indigo blue medallion stands out well on the ivory ground. The field is filled with floral sprays. The border design is very detailed with a repeat floral design.
The rug is in good condition with even wear and medium pile. There are a few old areas of historic moth damage in the lower right hand corner, these are well blended into the rug and difficult to see. The rug has a very firm tight weave. Hand washed and ready for use or display. A superb rug that would grace any room.
