This Antique 5x6 Persian kilim is a rare Shahsavan tribal rug of the Jajim flat weave style—handwoven in wool circa 1890-1900.
On the Design:
This tribal rug enjoys fabulous archaic colors in an all-over pattern with repeat stripes and subtle textural accents. Keen eyes will note rust tones, reds, greens, blues, and a variety of rich and bright hues as they admire the sense of movement they create. It’s an intricate and colorful piece, yet a comfortable choice in kind, so exemplary of Shahsavan flatweaves from its period.
