About the Item
In this listing you will find a breathtaking Antique double bag or a flat-weave rug, also known as a khorjin or saddlebag. It features a combination of pile-woven panels with geometric patterns and flat-woven (kilim) striped sections on the back, made of 100% wool. The design includes repeated geometric octagonal medallions with angular hooks, common motifs found in tribal weavings from this region, sometimes referred to as "Memling" patterns. The edges of the bag are decorated with blue ceramic beads. Made in Central Asia in the last quarter of the 19th Century.
The saddlebag is in a very good condition despite its age.
