Transcaucasian Long Rug
Caucasus/Northwest Persia
The darkly saturated red field displays a column of four slightly irregular, layered octagons in brown and beige tones. Pairs of animals decorate these elements. Animals, rosettes and stars support the major devices in the field. Cream border with slanted leaves and simplified wine cups (or flowers). Floating rosette minor border. Moderate weave on wool. Symmetric knots. Good condition for the age.
