About the Item
In this listing you will find a stunning Antique Turkmen Ersari rug. Ersari rugs as the one presented in this listing are typically hand-knotted using local wool and natural dyes, and are renowned for their durability and distinctive geometric patterns. At the same time, they belong to the family of thinner rugs, and are extra fine on a touch. The rug features repeating octagonal medallions, known as "guls" or "göls," set against a deep red background. These guls often symbolize tribal crests or "elephant's foot" motifs and are a signature of Turkmen weaving traditions. The pattern incorporates detailed geometric shapes and stylized designs in contrasting deep indigo blue, black, and natural ivory or brown. Due to its age, as well as the exposure to sun and washing over time, it has lost the intensity of colors. Due to that we can find countless shades of red and orange on this rug, which is exactly what makes it so attractive for various interior designs today.
When purchased the rug will be carefully wrapped up and packed in a way to avoid any damages in transport. As soon as shipped you will receive the tracking number for your package. If you have any additional questions regarding this piece please feel free to contact me.
