Weathered beauty meets rustic sensibility in this hand knotted wool antique-worn Persian Tabriz rug. The faded botanical design and warm earthy hues woven into this piece work together resulting in a rustic yet refined look. An allover pattern composed of blooming palmettes, curved sickle leaves, stylized florals, and undulating vine stems are dispersed across the lovingly time-worn tan colored field. An elaborate leafy boteh palmette border creates a lush enclosure while the floral meander guard bands and egg-and-dart trim adds a refreshing finish to the relaxed formal composition.
The well-worn surfaces and time-softened colors are the perfect complement to the rough textures and utilitarian forms so prevalent in Industrial style interiors. Yet this antique Tabriz rug is also ripe with rich patterns and unmistakable aspects of Persian traditional culture such as the palmette and sickle leaf motifs, curling tendrils, and blossoming florals. With its perfectly worn-in charm and welcomed informality, this weathered Persian area rug can create a warm, lived-in look that feels timeless.
Rendered in variegated shades of tan, brown, red, blue, rose, cerulean, khaki, sky blue, green, gold and taupe with other accent colors.
