Hand-knotted using traditional techniques, the rug features a wool pile over a cotton foundation, reflecting Malayer’s village-based weaving heritage. The design is an allover composition built from small-scale geometric and stylized floral motifs arranged in a dense, continuous rhythm. Repeating rosettes, hooked polygons, and lattice-like forms animate the field, while subtle arched spandrel shapes at the ends reference a pseudo-prayer layout without a directional focus. A single wide main border, edged by narrow guards, frames the field with meandering and geometric accents.
