This one-of-a-kind gallery runner, hand-knotted in the Persian Oushak tradition, measures 3 ft 3 in x 18 ft 0 in (approximately 5.44 square meters) and is crafted from resilient wool on a cotton foundation. Its elongated gallery format is ideal for long transitional spaces such as hallways and stair landings. A new-production piece made after 1990, it reflects the renewed global appreciation for contemporary interpretations of heritage Persian design.
The runner features an allover stylized floral composition arranged along a single vertical axis. Palmettes, leafy sprays, rosettes, and subtle geometric elements float over a slate blue-gray field, accented with pale silver gray and deeper teal tones. A narrow border in harmonizing hues encloses the composition while maintaining a soft edge — a design choice that enhances a relaxed, organic flow. Mild abrash throughout the wool pile provides a sense of movement, depth, and artisan authenticity.
Durably hand-knotted using an asymmetric (Persian) knot, the rug has a medium wool pile of around 7 mm, offering a comfortable underfoot feel while remaining easy to maintain. With a DS durability score of 75 and a maintenance-ease rating of 4 out of 5, it performs well in homes that value both practicality and beauty.
