Diamond floral medallion antique Serab Persian rug with floral borders,
Keivan Woven Arts / rug EMA-7503, county of origin / type: Iran / Serab, circa 1900
This early 20th century antique Persian Serab carpet features a tan-colored field decorated with a large diamond center. The central diamond shape is composed of a multitude of flower shapes, in various shades of red and gray. Ornate borders full of vining flowers frame the entirety of the piece. This particular carpet is woven on a wool foundation and has a soft, pliable handle, typical of the earlier Serab rugs. Additionally, the articulation of its motifs is excellent and it features beautiful color quality.
