Made with hand-knotted wool and originating in the late 19th century, this 9x12 antique Persian rug of Heriz provenance is a rare and exciting new curation from Rug
Kilim.
On the Design:
Admirers of the craft will note this is a very special piece of its provenance—one of the few that can be found in this size and scale, and with particularly bright versions of the quintessential colors Heriz rugs favor. Here, a field of red and beige tones underscores an elaborate rosette floral pattern, enjoying both bright and navy blue alongside salmon, gold and coral red tones (the same as those found in the elaborate borders). It’s a regal, unique piece with a fresh approach to the many classic beauties of a Heriz—exemplary of their bold, dramatic presence and their smart play of an Oriental sensibility with such a fluid sense of movement.
Condition:
This antique Heriz rug further enjoys overall good condition for its age and origin, with very mild, overall even wear and distressed element relegated to the field—ready for the floor.
