60987 distressed antique Persian Malayer Runner with Herati Pattern 03'09 x 12'08. Effortless beauty with a lovingly time-worn composition, this hand knotted wool distressed antique Persian Malayer runner will take on a curated lived-in look that feels timeless while imparting a sense of warmth and welcomed informality. The abrashed brown field features an all-over Herati pattern. The Classic Herati design, also known as the Mahi or Fish pattern, is amongst the most widespread and well known of all Persian designs, consisting of a flower centered in a diamond accompanied by curving lanceolate leaves that resemble fish. The Herati motif is widely used in Iran and believed to represent the small fishes come up just beneath the surface of the water to swim in the full moon’s reflection. It is enclosed with a carnation meander border flanked with an inner running water guard band. The cozy brown hues combined with weathered striations dash across the field, enhancing the decadent beauty and understated elegance. Rendered in variegated shades of brown, coffee, beige, camel, tan, sand, ecru, taupe, almond, mushroom, sienna, and pashmina with other neutral accent colors.
