60840, distressed antique Persian Malayer runner with modern rustic industrial style 03'02 x 11'02. Warm and inviting with rustic sensibility, this hand-knotted wool distressed antique Persian Malayer runner features an all-over Herati pattern. The Classic Herati design, also known as the Mahi or Fish pattern, is amongst the most widespread and well known of all Persian designs, consisting of a flower centered in a diamond accompanied by curving lanceolate leaves that resemble fish. The Herati motif is widely used in Iran and believed to represent the small fishes come up just beneath the surface of the water to swim in the full moon’s reflection. It is enclosed with an angular botanical border flanked with an inner and outer guard bands. With its understated elegance and lovingly time-worn, this antique Malayer carpet runner would bring a sense of nostalgic charm to nearly any interior. Rendered in variegated shades of brown, army green, camel, olive, rust, burnt orange, tan, terra cotta, sand, taupe, ecru, light gray, charcoal, coffee, and slate gray with other accent colors.
