About the Item
This large, very finely woven, urban silk shows a navy scalloped ogival medallion, with a conforming ivory sub-medallion, set on a salmon-red field carefully decorated by a four section symmetrical design of palmettes and leaves. Corners with serpentine barbed leaf edges. Blue-black main border with elaborate palmettes and richly barbed leaves, all in several shades of blue. Extremely well drawn and extra large for a silk of any origin. An opulent and exceptional piece.
