An outstanding late 19th century Farahan Sarouk carpet, woven circa 1870s, measuring approximately 78 inches by 50 inches (6 ft 6 in x 4 ft 2 in). This magnificent Persian masterpiece captures the elegance and refinement that define the renowned Farahan weaving tradition, celebrated for its balance of intricate design, superb wool quality, and graceful color harmony. The rug features a rich navy-blue field centered with a beautifully drawn medallion surrounded by floral arabesques, scrolling vines, and delicate palmettes. The design is complemented by a soft ivory ground and a contrasting coral-red border, which frames the composition with classical Persian symmetry and charm.
