This early 20th century Persian Lavar Kerman rug, measuring 2' 11" x 4' 4", features an elegant and meticulously woven boteh (paisley) design, a hallmark of Kerman’s sophisticated weaving tradition. The ivory-ground field is densely decorated with repeating boteh motifs arranged in neat rows, each rendered in shades of rich crimson, soft rose, and touches of pale blue, all outlined in dark accents for definition. The botehs are filled with delicate floral detailing, enhancing their ornate appearance. Surrounding the central field, a finely balanced border system consists of a wide main border in a light ivory tone adorned with scrolling floral vines, framed by guard stripes with smaller-scale botanical motifs.
