Antique Hamadan Runner, c. 1900
This charming Hamadan runner renders a formal central medallion layout using a more rustic village aesthetic. The colorful floral border is a variant of the ‘minakhani’ design more popular in neighboring Kurdistan to the north. The use of tone on tone with brick-red paisleys repeating against a rose-red field imbues elegance.
