Hand knotted in wool originating from the Gabbeh tribal weavers of Persia, circa 1910-1920, this antique Persian rug enjoys a play of tasteful abrashed aesthetic in the solid-striped colorway pattern and a very textural, inviting appeal to the lush wool its antique rug family is known for. The beige-brown hues create a granular sense of visual movement with a rustic charm, both complemented by the subtle notes of warm orange hues as well as the juxtaposition of the geometric motif in the middle lending a sense of character and collectible rarity to this tribal rug, whereas Gabbeh pieces tend to lean toward pattern or solid field.
