About the Item

Hand-knotted tribal rug of probable Turkoman origin (area of northern Afghanistan or southern Uzbekistan), datable to the 1960s-1970s. Made of wool on cotton or light wool warp and weft, it has a soft and flexible structure typical of carpets intended for domestic use in nomadic settings. The pattern takes up the classic Turkmen göl motif, repeated on a red field with dark blue and ivory details, while the border features a geometric lozenge decoration. The dimensions are approximately 200 x 115 cm. The ensemble is in good structural condition, with slight wear consistent with age and original use. An authentic and decorative rug, perfect for rustic, ethnic settings or for collectors of tribal textiles. Contact us for additional information. Shipping available worldwide.
