About the Item
This rug resembles the rare and collectible antique Khotan rugs that were produced in the 19th century and earlier in East Turkestan. They are interchangeably referred to as Samarkand rugs due to their close proximity to the cultural city center of the same name. Due to their limited availability, NASIRI revived the ancient dyeing and weaving techniques that had dissolved over the years to produce high-quality reproductions. This rug is crafted using hand-carded wool and natural dyes.
