About the Item

Ziegler carpets were originally commissioned in Persia for the Western market during the late 19th Century to complement Western furnishing tastes, quickly becoming popular across the UK and Europe due to their unique, grand scale drawings and quiet formality. Their understated colours make them highly sought-after additions to modern homes with their unique decorative ability to unite both classic and contemporary elements in a room. An elegant and unusually large Ziegler carpet, finely hand woven in wool in natural dyed colours. The subtle light caramel-olive green field provides great contrast to the grand scale drawing and array of harmonious colours, framed by a wide red border. A handsome classic carpet, rare in this large format, to blend in wide variety of settings.
