Design Analysis
The design is a pure allover composition with no central medallion, relying instead on an exceptionally dense network of curvilinear floral scrollwork. Palmettes, rosettes, small blossoms, and lattice-like vine tendrils interlock across the navy field in a continuous, symmetrical rhythm. Multiple borders frame the field, anchored by a wide main border enriched with terracotta and antique gold floral motifs, supported by finely articulated guard borders. The palette is dominated by dark navy blue, contrasted with burnt terracotta and antique gold, and enriched by slate blue, olive green, and umber accents. Mild abrash throughout the navy and warm tones enhances depth and antique character.
Weave and Performance
Knotted with asymmetrical Persian knots at a fine density estimated between 225–400 KPSI, the rug demonstrates excellent technical precision and structural durability.
