In contrast to the more colorful rugs of earlier eras, Ziegler rugs were made in softer and often lighter tones. The knot density was medium fine, the wool quality very good. Today, original Ziegler carpets are sought-after. The designs are often based on the originals, the colors are often reduced to a few shades within a carpet.
