Kilim’s collection of classic Persian rugs.
On the Design:
This palace-sized masterpiece enjoys a distinctive status amongst its peers owing to its character that is defined by distinguished Persian craftsmanship. The field is structured around a series of pointed arches, reminiscent of Safavid architectural elements, each intricately decorated with vases, stylized cypress trees, flowering shrubs, and dense floral tracery. Rendered in a harmonious palette of beige, deep navy blue, pink, and terracotta red, this design evokes the timeless Persian device of a walled garden — a symbol of paradise and order. Framing the field is an exquisite wide border notable for its procession of finely drawn animal pictorials, including lions, camels, gazelles, along with village men, all intricately rendered in complementary tones.
