This piece is a handmade Persian rug. The pile is wool with cotton foundation, the pile is incredible dense and strong. This stunning Persian Bijar rug is among the most hardwearing rug. It is made using high-quality wool, and the knots are beaten down using a heavy metal comb to give a tight, dirt-resistant pile. This rug has a well-known design which is called Herat Fish design (Herati is a common pattern found mainly on handmade rugs from Iran. It comprises of a flower inside a rhomb surrounded by four acanthus-leaves. These leafs are sometimes called fishes, because of its similarity). The size in this gorgeous rug is 6 feet 9 inches wide by 9 feet 8 inches tall.
