About the Item
Very handsome tribal Bakhtiari carpet featuring a large medallion on a blue field surrounded by an orange/red border decorated with rosette and cypress trees all in bright brilliant colors. The Bakhtiari tribe settled on the Zagros mountains and their weaving has characteristics of the region such as thick pile, coarser knots and tough texture which makes them very durable.
The rug is in general good condition consistent with its age and use with few worn spots. Dyes are mixed with organics and aniline,all sides and ends are original.
