The light maize field displays a layered medallion in rust, maize and medium blue while palmettes and flowering stems swirl about. The rust, straw and blue corners accurately repeat the central motif. The rust border of this low, flat, not quite distressed NW Persian city carpet shows reversing palmettes within a complex forked arabesque pattern.
