About the Item
This antique, circa 1900, Persian Serab Runner has an ivory field with a soft buff-brown honeycomb design containing a central hooked floral motif around a central column of linked indigo-blue serrated lozenges containing a polychrome herati-pattern, the spandrels similar and linked with a pair of part similar lozenges at each side, in a narrow indigo-blue border of brick-red flowerheads linked by angular floral vine between golden-yellow boteh and brick-red floral vine stripes, an outer sky-blue meandering polychrome floral vine stripe.
