About the Item

This vintage Persian Lilihan runner has a soft terracotta-red field with a vase at each end issuing a delicate floral spray surrounded by further scrolling floral sprays and flowering plants, in deep indigo-blue border of meandering palmette and angular floral vine between buff-brown floral vine stripes, outer plain soft terracotta-red stripe. Lilihan rugs, woven in the village of Lilihan in west-central Iran, are known for their vibrant colors, soft wool, and distinctive Persian floral designs. These rugs often feature rose and vine motifs arranged around a central medallion or in an allover pattern, with rich hues of pink, coral, blue, and ivory. Hand-knotted with a durable construction and a soft pile, their cheerful aesthetic and quality craftsmanship make them a charming addition to both classic and eclectic interiors.
