Stunning Turkish Kazak Azeri rug vintage with Caucasian and Heriz Design - Djoharian Collection
Turkish rugs and carpets are mainly made of fine, hand-spun wool,
This wonderful and stunning example comes from Eastern Anatolia.
This rug was made with two decorative diamond shaped medaillons. Other design elements are from Heriz, Shirvan and Armenian rugs.
Origin: Turkey
Pile material: Fine hand-spun wool, excellent full pile condition
Weft material: Wool
Warp material: Wool
Structure: Soft and with a dense pile - fine sheep's wool.
Colors: red, blue, beige.
This is vintage rug is in very good vintage condition with full pile.
It is fresh washed.
Size: approx. 6.9 x 4.7 ft, 81 x 55 inch or 200 x 140 cm (plus fringe on one side and a kilim border on the other side)
The design can be categorized in Persian rugs, Caucasian rugs, Karabagh rugs, Azeri rugs, Heriz rugs and Turkish rugs. The age is vintage or semi antique.
Shape: Rectangular (rugs from villages and tribal origin are never exactly streigt an even in shape).
