About the Item
In this listing you will find a beautiful vintage hand-woven prayer rug, done by Anatolian tribes in Turkey. The rug features religious motifs and it is done in purple and gray wool, which are considered rather rare color combination in vintage rugs. The archway pattern in the center field, which mimics a prayer niche in a mosque, indicates it is a prayer rug (seccade). Made in Turkey in the 1950s.
The rug shows signs of time and use, but it is in overall good vintage condition.
