About the Item
Ardebil rugs are a post WWII innovation, employing Caucasian designs, especially, as here, those of Kuba and Shirvan, but of Persian origin and facture. The sandy straw field shows a St. Andrews Cross Zeychur design. The main royal blue border shows floating cream rosettes, and there are six narrow additional stripes in the total frame. Moderate/medium weave, cotton foundation.
