Made with hand-knotted wool circa 1930-1940, this 10x14 vintage Persian rug originating from Persia, hails from one of the most sought-after provenances in Persian city rugs, and is particularly exciting as a rare open field rug.
On the Design:
Sky blue and cream white borders enclose this rich ruby red open field, which underscores a large-scale diamond-shaped medallion of the same elaborate, finely drawn floral patterns as the borders. The look is both one of meticulous detail and the utmost elegant nature, and keen eyes will particularly note a European influence to the patterns in their more curvaceous nature.
