This vintage 7x11 Persian kilim is a mid-century Palas Bidjari tribal rug, handwoven in wool circa 1950-1960.
On the Design:
This vintage Persian kilim presents the apotheosis of minimalist textile architecture through vertical striping of breathtaking sophistication and earthy chromatic discipline. Each stripe maintains individual character through subtle tonal variations that demonstrate the mastery characteristic of Palas Bidjari tribal workshops. The monochromatic palette achieves extraordinary sophistication through subtle tonal variations within the earth spectrum—warm gray, deep umber, black, ivory and luminous camel tones create depth through graduated chromatic progression rather than contrasting intensity.
