This vintage 5x8 Persian kilim is handwoven in wool, and originates circa 1950-1960.
On the Design:
This design remarks the panel-weaving technique, in which tribal weavers combine multiple pieces into a larger Kilim. The piece is panel woven in fun, saturated colors in stripes with whimsical textural accents on the borders. Connoisseurs will note few flat weaves in its period that enjoy so many colors and such a whimsy to their design.
