While often associated with Bidjar, this sophisticated design was also woven in Tabriz, likely as a custom order inspired by a European aesthetic—some believe it is a variation of the French Aubusson carpets admired by the Shah of Persia.
The design is set against a field of beautiful abrash navy blue and French blue. The term "abrash" refers to the subtle and charming color variations created by the use of organic dyes, giving the rug a sense of "living color" and a unique, authentic character.
