Handmade in wool, circa 1950-1960, this 5x6 vintage Shahsavan tribal Persian Kilim rug, features geometric stripes across the field.
On the Design:
Keen eyes for detail will admire the repetitive vertical striped pattern of the rug. Striped pieces like this were often woven from several long, narrow pieces into one, due to the fact that the weavers had to work in smaller spaces. The usage of beige/brown, red and orange tones create a striking visual contrast. The vibrant colorway plays joyfully in the patterns, and the movement these variations create, is also impressive. This is a graphic, yet livable piece with vast applications and rare features alike.

This vintage Shahsavan tribal Persian Kilim rug enjoys good condition for its age and origin.
