About the Item
In this listing you will find a marvel extra large hand-knotted Persian Shiraz rug. The rug features lavish ornaments depicting motifs from Persepolis, in the form of lions guardians of the city. The rug is done in hand-knotted wool dyed in natural colors. The design features a central medallion and repeated geometric motifs, including stylized animal figures and stepped patterns, which are typical of traditional Persian tribal weaving and can reflect the cultural heritage of the ancient city of Perseolis. Made in West Asia in the 1970s.
The rug is in good vintage condition.
