About the Item

An antique Caucasian Shirvan accent rug. The ivory field is organized by a hexagonal lozenge leaf trellis whose cells each enclose a stylized flower. All flowers point in the same direction. The red border of barred S’s is a Shirvan diagnostic. The weave is moderately close and even. This rug is particularly large for an antique Shirvan. Hand-knotted in the Caucasus Wool One-of-a-kind Measures: 4' 9" x 8' 1"
