Originating circa 1880-1890, this 5x9 antique Karabagh rug hails from Russia. Hand knotted in wool, the rug showcases the notable cartouche patterns in green and yellow hues resting comfortably on a rich maroon red background—all mothering classic cabbage rose floral emblems and palmettes of different styles and shades.
The floral border strikes a tasteful contrast in near-black with tones of blue, white and green for a delicious balance in color. An exemplary graph existing in its pristine condition, well suited for drawing rooms, living rooms, entrances, dens, walk in closets yearning a mature piece in classic Art Nouveau style. Ideal for country homes, farm houses, lodges, rustic homes, and transitional spaces among vast applications.
