This 9x12 Swedish style kilim rug is from the award-winning Scandinavian rug collection by Rug
Kilim. Handwoven in wool, and undyed, natural yarns, this flatweave is inspired by Swedish Deco Rollakan and Rya rugs.
On the Design:
Loosely taking after the old-world folk art, the geometric patterns enjoy beige-brown and green tones throughout. The color palette alongwith the design keep up with the playful, inventive approach of the Swedish minimalist style that inspired this collection. Keen eyes will admire undyed, natural yarns interwoven for a look of striae and subtle color variation. This proprietary technique both honors mid-century weaving techniques and creates a modern take on a vintage abrashed look. The result is a subtle compliment to the sense of movement that plays beautifully with this comfortable Swedish-style pattern.
Our flatweave’s more durable, weighted body is also a hallmark of the collection, made for high-traffic and heavy-furniture spaces. This, alongside several elements detailed here, represent R&K Principal Jahanshah Nazmiyal’s hope to honor this mid-century modern aesthetic.
